Indigenous Birth & Postpartum Doula

Kacie Cothren is a certified birth and postpartum doula who honors birth's profound ceremonial nature while embracing her Indigenous heritage as a proud Chickasaw, Cherokee, and Choctaw woman. With a deep reverence for the transformative power of birth, Kacie is committed to supporting individuals and families on their sacred journeys.

Drawing upon the wisdom passed down by her ancestors, Kacie seamlessly weaves cultural traditions and ancestral knowledge into her doula practice. She believes that birth is not merely a physical process but a ceremonial passage where mind, body, and spirit meet. By infusing birth experiences with cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, Kacie helps individuals feel connected to their heritage and empowered in their unique birthing journey.

As a doula, Kacie creates a nurturing and sacred space for expectant parents, blending her expertise with compassionate support. Her gentle guidance, calm presence, and deep understanding of birth make her clients feel valued, heard, and respected throughout their birthing experience. Kacie passionately advocates for the autonomy and choices of the birthing individual, cultivating an environment of trust and empowerment.

Beyond her role as a doula, Kacie actively engages in community work, preservation of Indigenous languages, uplifting Indigenous birthing practices, and advocating for maternal health equity. By sharing her ancestral knowledge, she strives to revive and preserve cultural traditions while empowering families to reclaim their birth stories. Kacie's dedication to cultural resurgence, decolonizing birth, and promoting reproductive justice is at the heart of her mission. If you are seeking a doula who embraces birth as a ceremonial journey and values the integration of Indigenous wisdom, she is here to support you.
